What a haul!

I'm still crazy. Man... I was wide awake at 4:30 this morning, just waiting for the alarm to go off at 5am. WHY on earth is an adult woman with no children, as of yet, waking up so early for presents? Because after presents we have to shower, get dressed and head out to O'Hare by 8am to spend the morning with my friend Krista on her layover. And, honestly... I didn't want to wait until after getting back this afternoon to open presents. Nilesh got a bunch of great DVD's, a couple beautiful ties, a nice dress shirt and a fabulously tacky Hawaiian shirt. I got some cool bag clips from pampered chef. Some beautifimus potholders and a not quite un-shattered mini-loaf baking pan. (also pampered chef) The baby got some cute as hell 3month outfits and a set of stacking donuts. Yay for christmas! Oh, and Santa brought us hershey's kisses and peppermint bark ghiradelli squares. Yum.

Hope everyone back home and everywhere else has a fabulous Christmas and enjoys the day.

Side note: not only is it not a white christmas here in Chicago. It's pouring rain. whee!!!

I'm such a sap for Christmas music. Seriously. I have been craving it so bad that on the drive home from a meeting the other night, I gave in and tuned into the Christmas-lite channel with Delilah. God, I hate Delilah, but there were Christmas songs! Nilesh laughs at me. I've been singing The Christmas Song ("Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...")over and over all day long, everywhere I go.

So, finally, when I was shopping for stuff for my homebirth kit as the midwives are doing the home visit on Sunday, I picked up three CD's. All very cheap because I don't want actual current pop artists. I got one collection full of Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin... Another with (get this) Jim Nabors and Kenny Rogers. Hee. Lots of old school, heavily orchestrated classic Christmas songs. I think there's even Perry Como, Andy Williams and others mom got me hooked on as a kid.

But the find of all finds is my all-time favorite Christmas album... John Denver and the Muppets. woot!!

I told you I'm a sap.

I think I've decided that since this is gonna be a Christmas baby, I'll listen to Christmas music while going through labor. Probably drive my mid-wives nuts. But my fabulous husband seems to love this stuff. White Christmas was playing this morning (the Bing Crosby version, of course) and he came into the room and wanted to dance. I had to send him back to the bathroom to finish shaving. Hee.

In not so happy news. Mom sent me an amazingly fabulous 4-mini-loaf pan thing from Pampered Chef. The Post Office decided to play their annual game of kick ball with my package. I haven't opened it yet, but I'm pretty sure a solid baking dish shouldn't sound like a thousand baby rattles.

Ooooh. Speaking of baby. I bought a super cheap pack of cloth diapers. These things aren't even pre-folded like the ones I've seen on websites. BUT, I figure, they'll serve for a little while. I've got a load of onsies, diapers, blankets, and waterproof lap pads all ready to wash today. My goodness, just looking at my tiny collection of baby supplies and its one load of wash. I'm gonna be a laundry doin fool once I actually have a pooping, spitting, peeing little beast in my hands.

Nilesh's funny moment yesterday:

Me: I thought you were going to get a haircut.
Nilesh: And ruin this amazing head of feathered perfection? *tosses his head like Ben Stiller in Dodgeball* No way, baby.

Note about his hair, its not feathered, it's just rather poofy.

And with that, I should actually get started on all the stuff I have to do today. I feel very crafty and home-maker-y today. Weird.
