Nilesh: Is there any chance we could convince your hair to come down and obey the laws of gravity?

Tracy: Can I quote you on my blog?

Nilesh: Seriously, the rest of us are law abiding citizens.

Nilesh: Is that a nail on your chest?

Tracy: No, its a feather.

Nilesh: Don't bite your nails, kay? That's a bad habit.

These are two snippets of what felt like a very absurd breakfast conversaion. But seriously, though... my hair has decided it wants to float upward unless I wet it and put weights on it to bring it in a downwardly directing. It amuses us.

Yes, the big day was yesterday. It was funny. I got dressed at about 12:45 pm. Nilesh was helping our friend Ashish park his car. They got back to the apartment around 12:50pm. The officiant arrived right at 1:00pm. Papers were signed. Words were said. Hands were held. I cried like a silly baby, which I totally did not expect. Then we took some pictures. The officiant was gone by 1:17pm. We were out of our fancy clothes by 1:30pm and heading out to have a fabulous lunch at an Indian restaurant.

Maybe it's because the wedding was so simple, but really... I don't feel different. I did try signing my new last name a few times yesterday and today. It's actually fun going from my loopy Y straight on to a pretty SH combo.

Nilesh and I drove to Detroit this weekend to hang out with friends and business people. All in all, the weather was fabulous, I got to wear two of the blouses my mom and sister picked out for me, and Nilesh got me a new necklace. Woot!

Also, the wonderful couple we stayed with (Ananta and Shilpa) were the nicest hosts you could ever ask for. Shilpa is also an amazing cook and sent me home with tupperware containers full of her various curries and other concoctions.

Our iron crapped out completely last week. Called the company and even though Nilesh bought it in June, they're gonna take it back and send us a replacement plus refund any difference in price. How's that for amazing customer service? But, in the meantime... He's got a bunch of shirts that need ironing, so I've got to carry a pile to the dry cleaners. Making sure I check the pockets of everything first, because he has a tendency to leave lip balm or breath strips in odd little pockets, and those don't wash and iron so well.

I've discovered something, having Mothering.com as my homepage is usually a great thing, but I'm not sure its so brilliant to read articles like this when I'm heading into week 34 of my pregnancy. I was crying and crying. Gah. Now, my eyes are all blotchy.

The continuing adventures of Napkin Man!!!
*insert superhero music here*

So, after my brisk and windy walk to the post office this afternoon, I stopped in at my favorite coffee shop. It was unusually busy today. There were only a few tables available, and I snagged the last one by the window.

Well, about halfway through my cup, the door opens and in scurries Napkin Man. As per usual, he's bundled in his coat and little hat, his hands in his pockets. His face all scrunched up. Eventually, he looks up, scans the room, and realizes that the only tables available are right next to occupied tables, and even worse, not against a wall or window. Amazingly enough, his face scrunches up even more, his one hand, napkin in fist, that had been pulled out of a pocket, balls up into a tight fist and I see his eyes narrow, his face turn slightly red, and he mouths, "FUCK." Abruptly turns on his heel, stuffs his hand back into his coat and storms out of the cafe.

It was so weird, and simultaneously cute and fascinating.

After the cafe, I went across the street to grab some butter for making cookies. I'm heading towards the check-out, and pass the plant/flower section. What do I see but the cutest Norfolk pines I've ever seen. About ten of them, all with little red bows tied to the end of their branches. All in cute little baskets. All about three and a half feet high. Being a freak, I start cooing and petting one of them as if it were my old Norfolk Pine that I had in my office. I realize I'm cooing aloud, and chastize myself, again... aloud. I don't think anyone noticed.
My fabulous best friends Kyle and Bek have a new baby!

At 6:10 this morning (I was already up, fixin' breakfast) my phone rang. I thought it was Nilesh calling from the gym to tell me some silly joke. But, I saw the number was Kyle's and started squealing because I knew what that meant.

Evidently, Bek went into labor around 11:00pm last night. And at 2:26am November 10, 2005 (this morning) out popped an 8 lb 2 oz, 23 inch long baby boy. His name is Azel Sky Erck. Yay!!!

Nilesh laughs because I want hippy middle names like that as well.

Anyway, back to potato pancakes.

Napkin Man

Here he is folks. The infamous crazy napkin man! I was only brave enough to take a picture of him while he was preparing his coffee and napkins. I was afraid if I took a picture of him with his full napkin layout, I'd be attacked. He's a scary little fella.

In other news. I've got a missing sister. If anyone has seen or heard from my sister, Tina... please let her know I'm looking for her.

I am amused.

I went to google, typed in "Failure," and then hit the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. This is the site I was sent to. Tee hee!

In other news. My fabulous fabulous soon to be husband got me a new digital camera. I haven't had time to play with it yet, but this means more fun pictures!

Yes, official wedding date has been set. We found this lady to officiate for just $100. That means no more than 7 guests. But since most of you are in Alaska and just a few friends from our business are invited, that won't be a problem. November 19, 2005 @ 1:00pm. I'll be married. kick ass. If weather is nice, we'll walk down to the lake to do it, otherwise, its in the empty living room of my apartment.
