I wrote a story in junior high, or maybe high school, I forget which, in which a little girl named Frances goes to a summer camp, where she is lonely and ostrasized. She decides to go wandering and finds a wounded pegasus in the woods. Yes... very typical 13 year old girl style story. But, my co-worker, Daniel, just put a post-it on my desk, labeling my area as the "pegasus crossing." I'm not sure why. Then, I was reading an article about the plethora of plays dealing with overt religious themes, including one writer talking about how a counselor at his catholic summer camp sexually molested him. So, now my brain has latched onto this old story I wrote, and is seeing that it might bear re-examining. Especially because it has always been so amazingly vivid in my mind. The textures of the forest, smells and sounds. The chubby, mousey, very introverted little girl. And the pegasus, who always had a deep, kinda creepy voice in my head, is now definitely taking on a more sinister shape. Will I do anything with this, I don't know. But... I figured I might as well get this down somewhere.

What an amazing set of theater I got to see this week. Avenue Q and Doubt. Both very different. But both were wonderful, fabulous and help me remember why I love theater. Singing, cursing, porn-loving puppets. Then, catholic school and spectacular acting. Now, Krista (who is visiting from Alaska) is going to go have a wonderful day that includes a massage, facial, and possibly a movie... while I... I get to go sit in a freezing theater and fold paper cranes while I wait for an actor to call "line!" Yay tech weekend! At dinner break Krista and I are going to go have fabulous sushi and miso soup. Possibly followed by organic icecream/sorbet. Then Krista is going to go to a concert (for which I will procure a teeeeeeeckit.) while I return to the land of tech. All in all, the day could be worse.

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH are coming to a laboratory near you. Check this out. Hee!
In other news, its snowing like crazy here in Princeton. I have mild crushes on three of the actors in the current show. And life chugs along.
Ooooh. second page of the article gave me this creepy little tid-bit that feels like some weird ending to a Twilight Zone:

Should two such "chimera mice" mate, it could lead to the nightmarish scenario of a human embryo trapped in a mouse's womb.
