Due to a misread of all the fine print regarding personal leave vs. sick leave vs. donated leave I have to use up about 20 hours of leave or lose it in my last 5 days of work. So, I'm taking half days. Which will give me time to pack pack pack.

Yay!

With this trip to San Diego (see my other blog for more details) before the move to Princeton, I've got to get all of my personal possesions squared away in the next eight days. Which boxes are being mailed to New Jersey now, which are gonna be put into storage (under my sister Tina's house) to be mailed at a future date, which of my belongings am I just gonna give away and live without? It's all a conundrum to my brain that can't quite rap around the concept that I'm moving.

So, I'm gonna try to use my free afternoon to get some bills taken care off. Transfered or just canceled. It's so weird. The last time I moved it was just to Fairbanks, and I knew I was coming back. This time, I'm moving across the entire country, with no plans to return. Plus, last time, I had no bills. Heh.

My time is vanishing so quickly. I want to have good quality time with all my friends and my family. But I also just want to enjoy summer in Anchorage. I'm gonna spend today with JB, my little brother. Tomorrow with my friend Marin. At some point I have to catch a play that's starring a slew of my friends. So, these little half-days at work are gonna really save my sanity.

I saw a picture today of Cushman street in Fairbanks. It was so smokey and hazy I could barely make out the second traffic light down the street. And the smoke has invaded anchorage as well. Where last weekend, the sky was a crisp, sunny blue. Today its a hazy yellow. Not a pretty yellow, but the color of the whites of someone's eyes when they are really sick. And the air, to me, smells like a perpetual barbeque.
